Justine Ward Hook has taught classical ballet for almost 30 years.  In 2022, after 18 years as the owner of the New Albany School of Ballet and 11 years as the director of the New Albany Ballet Company, Justine relocated to Meridian to continue her legacy as the Meridian Ballet.

Justine has produced numerous full length ballets including The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, A Midsummer's Night Dream, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin and more.

THE SCHOOL & THE COMPANY

The MERIDIAN BALLET encompasses two corporate entities, the:

MERIDIAN SCHOOL OF BALLET and MERIDIAN BALLET COMPANY.

The School of Ballet provides beginner through advanced instruction to girls and boys ages 3 to adult. Previous students have been invited to dance in Joffrey Summer Intensive programs in New York, Miami and Chicago, the Mississippi School for the Arts in Jackson, and professionally for the Nashville Ballet.  Students are afforded the opportunity to perform in Ballet Company productions.

The Ballet Company performs full length pre-professional ballets featuring guest artists, graduates of the school, and current students. Guest artists travel from professional companies such as the Alabama Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Indianapolis Ballet, Columbia Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, and others.  Positions in Company productions are awarded through an audition process, and all students of the School are afforded an opportunity to dance in lead, supporting, or ensemble roles as determined by the director and guest artists.
